The Retail Academy of Singapore was officially opened on 26 July 2004 by Mr Raymond Lim, then Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade & Industry.  Being one of the strategies in the Retail 21 (R21) Master Plan, the Retail Academy is to drive the professional development of the retail workforce at all levels.

To become a Retail Partner, a contribution of S$15,000 is to be made to the Retail Academy.  The contribution will help the Retail Academy to defray its development costs.

Part of the contribution will be used by the Retail Partner for offsetting course fees when the Retail Partner registers its staff for the courses in the future. The Retail Partner will also enjoy course fee discounts on public course fees.

In addition, the Retail Partner will be acknowledged with a certificate at the annual Certificate Award and being named on a plaque at the Retail Academy’s premises.
