A multi-generational workforce that also cuts across cultures is increasingly common among retailers. Retail managers who want to be more successful in driving workforce productivity must have the relevant competencies to manage the performance of these staff. Through a better understanding the human needs of a multi-generational workforce and deploying relevant strategies, managers will be more effective in leading their staff.
The 2-day course will familiarise managers with the principles of performance management – a better understanding on performance standards, measurements and criteria; and, using these to appraise, review and manage performance of the staff. Managers will explore techniques on feedback, counseling and dealing with under-performers.

The course is beneficial to managers who need to better manage the performance of their staff in a multi-generational workforce. The managers will also benefit from understanding performance standards, measurements and criteria to effectively conduct performance appraisal and provide feedback to or counseling their staff.
This 2-day course is conducted in an interactive workshop style using presentations, discussions, case studies and role-plays.
Participant who successfully complete the programme will be awarded two Retail WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOAs) for Manage Service Operations and Manage Customer Relations (CRM) in the Retail Environment and achieve a credit exemption for the module Developing Customer Relations and Managing People under the Diploma in Retail Management by the Retail Academy of Singapore if the participant decides to enrol for the Diploma in the future.
