In today’s competitive environment, learning to work in a team can allow an individual to effectively contribute to the organisation. The combined contribution of all members in a team can have a synergistic outcome that far outweighs the sum of individual effort.
Lead and Manage Work Teams (Competency code: RE-SO-410C-1) is a 35 hours course delivered with 32 hours of training and 3 hours of assessment. The course addresses the skills and knowledge required by store managers to lead and manage work teams effectively.
After completion, participants will be able to:
1. Direct and organise work teams
2. Lead work teams
3. Manage work teams
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The course is beneficial for department managers, retail operations managers, store managers, area managers, and other personnel responsible for leading and managing teams as well as industry practitioners who have the relevant working experience and are seeking formal nationally-recognised certification and want to enhance their skills and knowledge in leadership and people management.
The course is conducted over 4.5 days for full-time classes and 12 days for evening part-time classes delivery.
The course is delivered in an interactive workshop style using discussions, case studies and presentations. There are 32 hours of training and 3 hours of assessment.
Assessment includes written assessment and case study. Written assessment is 80 minutes whereas case study assessment is 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Participants who met the Retail WSQ assessment criteria will be awarded one Retail WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) for Lead and Manage Work Teams
