Manage operational human resource policies in the retail and service organizations involves multilayer challenges. The following – formulating a human resource plan, recruiting and selecting appropriate staff, managing staff training and development, and conducting staff performance appraisal – are critical activities in the management of human resource. Human resource is a key asset. It constitutes a major cost of an organization. Effective utilization gives the organization a competitive advantage. A well-managed human resource can differentiate you from your competitors.
Manage Operational Human Resource Policies (Competency code: RE-SS-415C-1) is a 27 hours course delivered with 24 hours of training and 3 hours of assessment. The course addresses the skills and knowledge required to devise human resource plan, recruit and select staff, manage staff training and development, and conduct staff performance appraisal.
After completion, participants will better understand:
1. Formulation of a human resource plan in line with operational requirements
2. Recruitment and selection of staff in accordance with organizational guidelines
3. Management of staff training and capability development in accordance with organizational policies
4. Conduct of staff performance appraisal in accordance with organizational policies

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The course is beneficial for supervisors, team leaders, assistant managers with 2 years of experience as well as industry practitioners who have the relevant working experience and are seeking formal nationally-recognised certification and want to enhance their skills and knowledge in people management.
The course is conducted over 3.5 days for full-time classes and 9 days for evening part-time classes delivery.
The course is delivered in an interactive workshop style using discussions, case studies and presentations. There are 24 hours of training and 3 hours of assessment.
Assessment includes written assessment and case study. Both written assessment and case study assessment are 90 minutes.
Participants who met the Retail WSQ assessment criteria will be awarded one Retail WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) for Manage Operational Human Resource Policies (RE-SS-415C-1).
