  The programme that enables you and your company to scale new heights.
Launched in 1988 by the Institute for Retail Studies (IRS) at the University of Stirling in the UK, over 500 retail professionals worldwide have graduated from the MBA in Retailing by Distance Learning. The University of Stirling is a member of European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).

This programme is offered in Singapore through the Retail Academy of Singapore by distance learning programme. So far, 9 runs of the programme have been conducted in Singapore. The MBA in Retailing by Distance Learning is also the designated course of study of the Singapore National Retail Scholarship (Masters).

In the recent runs of the Singapore programme, we have participants from India, Thailand, Macau, New Zealand, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Myanmar. Quite a number of our participants are sponsored by their companies, for example, for example, Courts, Dairy Farm Singapore, Harvey Norman, NTUC Fairprice, Popular Bookstore, Wing Tai Retail, Times NewsLink, Temasek Polytechnic, PT Primavera (Indonesia), City Mart Holdings (Myanmar).

The programme has also attracted participants from retail-related industries such as marketing consultancy, IT solutions and tertiary education.

THE INSTITUTE FOR RETAIL STUDIES




The Institute for Retail Studies (IRS), University of Stirling, is a 'Centre of Excellence' for the study of retailing and retail management. This recognition was further enhanced in December 2008 when the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE2008) described the University's research into retailing as "World Leading." Other than running the unique MBA in Retailing and bespoke retail management development programmes, the IRS also undertakes research projects for a range of public and private clients in UK and worldwide.
